Music Video 6 Shots

I think these shots are going to be key in creating our music video because they can clearly show what is going and in our work it kind of shows a narrative also. We drew these three sets of shots because we be using one of them as inspiration to help create our music video, we will try create what we have shown in the shots. All the pictures that we created could of been used as our idea but we have chosen one that we figure is the best one. The long shots that we are going to use help to set the scene or show the audience where we are and our surroundings this will help them understand what is going on in our music video. By doing this it will help the audience become more engaged and intrigued with what we are about to show them.

Market Research - Product Placement

My target audience is aimed at school aged teenagers. What I am doing is analyzing all the channels to see who watches it/platform at different times. I am doing this so I can put up a 25-30 second advertisement which promotes Cyber-Safety. I need to do this analyzing so that I can find the right channel that most school aged teenagers will be watching at the correct time.

The most watched channels are:

1. Channel 4 -
Coming from me, as I am a school aged teenager, when I turn on the TV I would go straight to Channel 4 as I think its programs are funny and entertaining. Channel 4 broadcasts some very entertaining things such as Educating the East End, Alan Carr Chatty Man and Hollyoaks for example. But Channel 4 mostly aim there stuff at 15-35.
Advertising at breakfast would cost you £500. Advertising at daytime will cost you £1500. Early peak and late peak is where it starts to get really expensive. At early peak, it costs £4000, and at late peak it will cost you £7500. At night time, it will then drop back down to £550.

2. Comedy Central -
From research I have found out that Comedy Centrals target group is the age between 16-34, and I quote, "with both men and women displaying a fondness for a good joke". This means it is not just aimed at one gender, but both.
To advertise at breakfast, would cost you £10. At daytime, that would cost you £80 because most people would be at work and school. At early peak and late peak is where it is most expensive at £450, that is because most people are home at this time watching television. Then at night time, when most people are sleeping, the price would drop all the way down to £40.

3. ITV 2 -
ITV 2 employs a focus on American programming, such as Gossip Girl and The Vampire Diaries. In addition to this, it also airs repeats of shows from ITV, as well as spin off shows such as X Extra Factor and Britain’s Got More Talent. It generally targets a younger audience.
To advertise at breakfast time will cost you £400, and at daytime £800. At early peak it will cost you £16-00 because most people should be home from whatever they're doing. At late peak it will cost you £3000 because everyone should be home and watching television at this time. Then at night time, the price drops to £300.

4. E4 -
Channel 4 caters to the younger, 16-34 demographic with a blend of American and British series. Its programming consists of Imports such as New Girl, How I Met Your Mother and Big Bang Theory, as well as British shows such as Rude Tube, The Inbetweeners and Skins.
At breakfast it will cost you £150 to advertise, and at daytime it will go up a bit to £300. At early peak the prices go up to £4000 and late peak it goes down to £3000. At night time, the prices drastically go down to £300 because most people are sleeping and not watching television.

It is proposed that our music video, which is Krept and Konan Ft Clean Bandit – Don’t Waste My Time, will be of 4.02minutes duration, filmed at a tennis court, the street, at one of our artists house and edited at our Sutton facility.

The music video will be aimed at young people from 16-34 who have a young mind-set. Also, it is aimed at people who like dance, rap and classical.

The music video will show a number of different people wasting our time in different situations. We will be filming in different situations and in all locations, people will be wasting our time and annoying us.

Several locations have been visited and a shortlist has been drawn up:

Suggested locations are:

Tennis Court
Street
Artists House

The music video will include the following:

a)      Close-Up

b)      Extreme Close-Up

c)      Mid-Shot

d)      Wide Shot

e)      Birds Eye View

By using these different range of shot types we will be able to have an interesting music video which is what my target audience wants to see rather than have a video which is set in one place and is boring because you are watching the same thing throughout.

Structure

The music video will be in colour and in PAL 4:3.

The music video will start with Gary waking up, putting his clothes on and leaving his house. After this he meets his friend Kieron they start filming in an alley way. At times we will go to the bus stop, park, Gary's house, or inside the shop to shoot.
Cut to our main characters meeting. And then, it'll cut to tennis. There will be different shot types, such s close-ups and cut-aways. After this, it will cut to different scenes, such as, restaurant, one of our artists house, the bank and the streets.

Music Video Rating:
EVERYONE 10+
Content is generally suitable for ages 10 and up. May contain more cartoon, fantasy or mild violence, mild language and/or minimal suggestive themes.

Casting Decisions

Casting Decisions

Kieron Diaz
Gary Abisogun
Alastair Donkor
Jason Takyi
Kristian Diaz

First of all, Kieron Diaz and Gary Abisogun are the main characters walking from location to location. Whist walking from location to location they come across a bunch of people who all waste their time.

Gary Abisogun, Kieron Diaz, Alastair Donkor and Jason Takyi will all be playing tennis. Kieron and Gary vs. Alastair and Jason, Alastair and Jason are playing really badly and are wasting our time. Kieron and Gary play ‘piggy in the middle’ with the ball with Jason and Alastair. After, we throw the bats at them and leave.

The second location is at Kieron’s house where Kieron, Gary and Kristian will be in the scenes. Kieron and Gary will be at a bar and we order drinks. The waiter (Kristian) brings out the drinks but they are the wrong drinks. Kieron and Gary get annoyed, stand up, and throw the drinks at him, then leave.

PROPOSAL

Prepared by

Kieron Diaz, Daniel James and Gary Abisogun

We are making a music video; people will not be wearing jewellery. It’s going to be the basics in the street. It is going to be around 4minutes long and it is showing an institutional right for our time not to be wasted for any reason. It is aimed at young adults that like rap, dance and classical music. Our target audience can vary from a young age to an older age (16-40) because these two genres are mixed together to make something different and unique.
I will be filming our artist lip synching throughout many different locations. We will be walking around and showing how many people can waste your time. I am trying to present my artist as a normal person. No jewellery or expensive clothes, but we’re showing that he gets annoyed when people waste his time.
We’re going to be filming our music video in many different locations such as a house, the streets and on busses. I will not be using any special effects, or props. Just what our artist is wearing which is casual clothing.
Kieron Diaz, Gary Abisogun, Alastair Donkor, Jason Takyi will all appear in our music video. We don’t need to book Jason and Alastair as they said they are available for it already.
I will be using a DSR Camera to film our music video.
